مقدمه: دانش اتنوبوتانی بخشی از سرمایه‌ی ملی هر قوم است که باور‌ها و آگاهی‌های محلی آنان از گیاهان و خواص آنها را در برمی‌گیرد که حاصل قرن‌ها آزمون و خطا در محیط طبیعی است و به دلیل شفاهی بودن در معرض انحطاط است.
هدف: تحقیق حاضر با هدف آشنایی و مستندسازی فرهنگ استفاده سنتی از گیاهان دارویی مرتع زبرخان از رویشگاه‌های شهرستان نیشابور در استان خراسان رضوی صورت گرفت.
روش بررسی: در این مطالعه دانستنی‌های سنتی مردم پیرامون گیاهان در قالب مصاحبه‌ی آزاد و مشاهده‌ی مشارکتی گردآوری شد. مصاحبه‌ها با محوریت نام محلی گیاهان، اندام مورد استفاده، خواص و شوه مصرف گیاهان مطرح و تا جایی ادامه پیدا می‌کرد که پاسخ‌های تکراری ثبات و صحت مصاحبه را محقق می‌ساخت. گیاهان جمع‌آوری شده با استفاده از منابع معتبر گیاه‌شناسی شناسایی شد.
نتایج: در این مطالعه 70 گیاهی دارویی متعلق به 29 خانواده شناسایی شد که در این بین خانواده‌های Lamiaceae، Apiaceae،Compositae ، Brassicaceae و Polygonaceae از بیشترین سهم برخوردار بودند. نتایج حاصل از بررسی کاربرد سنتی گیاهان نشان داد که بیشترین استفاده دارویی از گیاهان جهت درمان بیماری‌های گوارشی، درمان سرماخوردگی، درمان بیماری‌های عصبی، مسکن و آرامبخش می‌باشد. بیشترین کارکرد اندام‌های مصرفی گیاهان شامل سرشاخه‌های گلدار، برگ و ساقه‌های جوان بود. بررسی و مقایسه کاربردهای مختلف گیاهان در منطقه مورد مطالعه و همچنین سایر نقاط ایران تشابه موارد مصرف در میان برخی گونه‌های گیاهی مشابه در مناطق مختلف کشور را به اثبات می‌رساند.
نتیجه‌گیری: وجود 70 گیاه دارویی غنای مراتع مورد مطالعه را نشان می‌دهد. شناخت این گیاهان و مستندسازی دانش پیرامون آنها می‌تواند زمینه مناسبی برای شناسایی اثرات درمانی جدید گیاهان، استفاده بهتر از گیاهان دارویی و فرآورده‌های آنها را فراهم آورد.
