مقدمه: کافئین به عنوان یکی از مکمل‌های غذایی و پرمصرف‌ترین مواد محرک در بین ورزشکاران محسوب می‌شود. هدف: هدف از پژوهش حاضر بررسی تأثیر مصرف کافئین بر پاسخ لاکتات خون متعاقب فعالیت‌های درمانده‌ساز در شنای کرال سینه و کرال پشت شناگران جوان پسر بود.روش بررسی: پژوهش حاضر از نوع نیمه تجربی و میدانی بوده و ۱۶ نفر از شناگران جوان پسر به صورت تصادفی در دو گروه تقسیم شدند. ابتدا شناگران بدون مصرف کافئین با هدف رکوردگیری اولیه در شناهای ۱۰۰ متر کرال سینه و کرال پشت شرکت کردند. سپس بعد از هفت روز مجدد با مصرف کافئین رکوردگیری انجام گرفت. نمونه‌های لاکتات خون طی سه مرحله حالت پایه، پس از دوره مکمل‌دهی و بلافاصله پس از اجرای فعالیت ورزشی اخذ شد. داده‌ها با استفاده از آزمون‌های تحلیل واریانس با اندازه‌گیری مکرر، آزمون تعقیبی بونفرونی و تی همبسته و مستقل تحلیل شد.نتایج: نتایج تحلیل واریانس با اندازه‌گیری مکرر نشان داد که مصرف کافئین بر پاسخ لاکتات خون پس از فعالیت‌های درمانده‌ساز در مقایسه با گروه کنترل تأثیر معنی‌داری داشته (۰۰۱/۰P < ) و همچنین عملکرد رکوردی شناگران را بهبود داده است (۰۰۱/۰P < ). نتیجه‌گیری: نتایج نشان داد که مصرف کافئین در گروه‌ها تأثیر معنی‌داری بر لاکتات خون و عملکرد شناگران دارد، ولی اختلاف معنی‌داری میان گروه‌های شنای کرال سینه و پشت مشاهده نشد.
