مقدمه: چاقی و افزایش وزن با ایجاد اختلالات متابولیکی موجب ایجاد خطر برای سلامتی افراد می‌شوند. فعالیت‌های استقامتی و برخی مکمل‌های گیاهی با تأثیر بر شاخص‌های هورمونی و وزن بدن می‌توانند از خطرات سندرم متابولیک بکاهند.
هدف: پژوهش حاضر به منظور بررسی اثر 8 هفته مصرف مکمل دانه کتان و تمرین استقامتی بر BDNF و IGF-1 در زنان چاق پرداخته است.
روش بررسی: تعداد 48 خانم چاق 30 تا 40 ساله انتخاب و به طور تصادفی به چهار گروه کنترل (Con)، تمرین هوازی (AT)، مکمل دانه کتان (Sup) و ترکیبی (تمرین استقامتی+ مکمل دانه کتان (AT+Sup)) تقسیم شدند. تمرین استقامتی شامل 8 هفته فعالیت فزاینده روی تردمیل با شدت 30 تا 70 درصد اکسیژن مصرفی بیشینه بود. مکمل دانه کتان در گروه‌های مصرف مکمل به میزان 6 گرم در روز به صورت پودر مصرف شد. برای تحلیل آماری از آزمونt ، تحلیل واریانس یک سویه و در صورت معناداری از آزمون تعقیبی توکی در سطح 05/0 استفاده شد.
نتایج: وزن بدن در گروه‌های تمرین و تمرین + مکمل در هفته اول نسبت به هفته هشتم تغییر معناداری نشان داد. نتایج حاصل افزایش معنادار در BDNF و کاهش معنادار در IGF-1 را در دو گروه AT و AT+Sup نسبت به Con و Sup نشان دادند

P≤). ولی تفاوت بین گروه AT و AT+Sup معنادار نبود.
نتیجه‌گیری: یافته‌های این پژوهش نشان داد که تمرینات هوازی همراه با مصرف بذر کتان می‌تواند اثرات بارزتری بر کاهش وزن بدن و بهبود شاخص‌های متابولیکی مثل BDNF و IGF1 در زنان چاق داشته باشد.
